Martha’s Vineyard is synonymous with Sharks. The most obvious of which is Jaws, then we have the annual Monster Shark Tournament; both of which brings hundreds of thousands of visitors to our island annually. But did you know that Martha’s Vineyard is also home to another species of shark? These Sharks spend 3 months on the island and spend most of their time on the baseball diamond. The Martha’s Vineyard Sharks is a baseball team compiled of some of the top collegiate players in the country, getting them ready for the MLB draft, and much more. There’s only two home games left of the season, but if you’re trying to get away from the crowds of the Agricultural Fair and Fireworks, come out for a game with your family.
The Sharks will be playing the Silver Knights from Nausha on Thursday the 15 at 7:00 pm and again on Friday the 16 at 4:00 pm at the Vineyard Baseball Park located at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School.
