Local Wild Food Challenge

Feeling adventurous? Up for something new? Well then channel your inner Andrew Zimmerman from Bizarre Foods, and come to the Rod and Gun Club on Monday, October 14 at 3PM for the annual Local Wild Food Challenge!

What is the Local Wild Food Challenge you ask? It is a culinary adventure contest that anyone - 5 star zagat rated chef to hard working stay at home mom- can enter. The rules are simple. Prepare the best dish you can using at least one locally sourced ingredient. So how does it work? Source - dig, hunt, fish, and forage for as many local ingredients as possible. The harder you work for your ingredients the more points you'll receive. Harvest - Don't forget to use locally grown items as well. Fresh herbs, spices, and fruits count for points as well. Prep - Take the time to get your food as "pretty" as possible. Presentation is key; remember people eat with their eyes before anything else. Enter - Submit your dish. It's that simple. Perhaps you don't want to enter into the competition. That's okay, because starting at 3, there are tastings all day long. So come down and enjoy a culinary adventure you won't forget.
