We've now chosen to stay here for two years in a row, after staying at various other properties on Chappy for years now, and we're already looking forward to our next stay. The house is spacious and eclectic in the very best possible way -- it has a bit of a staying-on-a-gorgeous-wooden-boat vibe with the curve to its shape, and the stunning high polish wood throughout. The bedrooms are large, and the master's bath's only fault is that you want to stay in there all day just staring out at the bay from the shower. Massive windows lining both sides of the house keep the ocean breeze flowing, and thus no need for air conditioning. And there's a wonderful screened -n porch that is completely soundproof; perfect for the teens. Two of the top three bedrooms have open ceilings, great for air circulation, but with that comes noise from downstairs. The wifi is very spotty, but one knows that when coming onto Chappy. The views from the bay, on both levels, are phenomenal, and the saltmarshes that spread from the front of the property to the ocean bring in all sorts of birds, from herons to cranes to eagles, so great for birders. Being by a saltmarsh, it can get a bit "buggy" so bring your bug spray when outside. The bay itself is very shallow, great for canoeing and paddleboarding. It's an idyllic place to recharge one's batteries; as said, we can hardly wait to come back.

We stayed at this property for 2 weeks, with 2 -3 adults and 2 children (5 and 7). The house is gorgeous and interesting, the view is spectacular. The memories of waking up in the master bedroom and seeing the lagoon and bay, sleeping with windows open, seeing the sunsets (and moon-sets if you set your clock for it) over the bay won't soon fade. The appliances work well, the beds are comfortable, and the master bathroom shower is great. Without AC, I was concerned about heat and mold, but neither was a problem. Textiles don't dry well, but there is a dryer and we used it daily for towels, etc. The little beach is lovely - small and shallow and at low tide there are lots of interesting little creatures to examine and you can walk way out. It would be tricky with smaller children in the house since the twin bedrooms feature an open wall concept nearer to the ceiling, and you can hear everything in the house. The wifi is spotty - comes and goes - such is life on Chappy! The privacy is really special. We would love to stay there again.
