Edgartown Katama 33

We experienced a lovely week on Martha?s Vineyard. Weather was outstanding and the crowds were greatly reduced . The rental house was in a very god location close to Edgartown and multiple beaches. The neighborhood was very quiet. We enjoyed the backyard setup that included dining table/chairs, chaise lounges a grill and a fire pit which was well stocked with wood. The home has a very nice set up for a family or 2 couples. Indoor Seating was comfortable as were the beds. Kitchen was very well stocked. No dishwasher but that didn?t bother us. Great that the house had beach chairs and umbrella.. Abundant fans helped with airflow inside the house. Cozy home, we were happy with the rental.

We recently stayed at this property at 16 Hillman with 4 adults and two young children 2 & 4. Upon arrival, being concerned with proper COVID cleaning, we felt comfortable. We did, however, clean ourselves for reassurance. Just a reminder, this house doesn't have a dishwasher. The owner supplied a few paper goods to replace unsanitized dishes and utensils, but we needed to supplement with more. It's a cute little house, with comfortable furniture in the small family room which opens to the kitchen. The beds were also very comfortable. Here are a few observations that we would like to share for future renters: There is a nice, small deck out back with table and chairs for 4. Also, there are 2 chaise lounges for stretching out. We would have liked 2 more chairs to bring it up to 6 total for eating outside. Not that big of a deal. There is a nice Grill on deck. Very convenient. Backyard- If you are looking for a good size yard to play outdoor games in, this is a little challenge. The owners have cut down trees and small stumps remain, causing a tripping hazard. A little dangerous for small children. If that is not important to you, then it's a private spot to relax. The firepit is fun to use and right there. Outdoor shower is tired and could use some hooks to hang towels and discarded clothing. There was wood rot in shower entrance and covered up with a piece of slate. Ok for adults, but again, a concern for small children. 3 comfortable sized bedrooms. The twin bedroom has lots of windows, but not all open and makes the room extremely hot during a heat wave, which is what we experienced when we were there. The AC is not in this room or the sitting room off of it. The owner provided fans to help. There was no air flow, making both rooms very warm and uncomfortable to sleep and sit in. The kitchen is well equipped with all the basic necessities and a good size refrigerator. The front door does not have a screen on it, We suggested that improvement to the owner to allow for more light and air flow into the home. The home is in a nice, quiet neighborhood and close proximity to the Bike Path. One way to town, the other to the Farm and Beach. A great location! The house is a little dark and warm. If this doesn't matter to you, then you will find it very comfortable and in a wonderful location for most everything you will need.
