Edgartown Katama 7083

My family and I have been enjoying MV during the summer for several decades now. We enjoyed our stay this summer in this home. We have downsized as a family so this quaint, 3-bedroom beach house was a good fit for us this year. It is located in Katama close to South Beach, great walking & bike trails. We were intentional about wanting a quiet more secluded home during the 3rd week of August where there is so much activity --and this home fit the bill. Lovely outdoor spaces for yoga work outs, card/board games & family bbqs. Short drive away from downtown Edgartown restaurants & shopping. Short drive away from Morning Glory farm if you want an alternative to Stop & Shop grocery shopping. Suggestion: It gets VERY dark at night/early morning. In the past, we have appreciated a few floor/ground lights at other MV homes where the cars are parked for greater visibility when walking from the cars to the front at night and/or unloading/loading items from cars in the early morning. We had a 5:30am ferry and loading our cars in the dark was challenging. Other than that - everything was great.

We appreciate the air conditioning units and new gas grill. Caretaker was helpful in restoring internet service. Tree branch over driveway and hose in drive were not removed very promptly. Hard to turn key in front door. Front porch light out.

The house was comfortable but was glad to see owner has bought an air conditioner for upstairs bedroom. Second floor is very warm. Owner read my review from last year and most items were addressed. However, drawers in chest in downstairs bedroom are warped and difficult to open. I was unable to open bottom drawer at all. Nice to have full length mirror but it needs to be hung. Downstairs bathroom needs a towel rack nearer the sink. Bushes around drive could be trimmed for easier exit from cars. It would be nice to have some kind of clothes line in back yard for hanging towels and wet bathing suits. Caretaker and cleaner were responsive and reliable.

House was comfortable and conveniently located near S. Beach, bike path and Morning Glory Farm. A good care taker was responsive to some minor repairs that were needed. The mid rental cleaning service did not give advance notice which was inconvenient. Some suggestions for the owner are to supply more small teaspoons, provide a step stool to reach high shelves, a small chair for the downstairs bedroom, wax the drawers in the downstairs bedroom dresser for easier sliding, provide a laundry basket and set up recycling. There were also some stains on the coffee mugs that needed some "elbow grease"
