Single Level on the Outskirts of Edgartown 7730

Very nice house, convenient location
We were very happy with this house, which is comfortable and generally well-maintained - especially compared to other rental properties in this price range. The central air conditioning came in handy, especially on a couple of hot afternoons and humid nights. The three bedrooms and two baths were very clean, with plenty of good storage in cabinets, dressers, and closets. (Nice walk-in closet in the master.) The kitchen was nicely appointed, with good clean silverware and utensils, pots and pans, etc. There are good sliders onto a nice little deck with a table and six chairs and a nice new umbrella. (The sliders worked well, but many of the vertical slats on the sliding door blinds were missing.) The grill is new and was a pleasure to use. There's also a very good outdoor shower next to the deck. We found it necessary to hang a towel on the outside of the shower to provide privacy from the deck area, but otherwise, it was fantastic. We did a couple of loads of laundry and both the washer and dryer seemed new and did a great job. We enjoyed the location, which is only a few minutes out of Edgartown, yet an easy trip to Oak Bluffs as well. The house is close to the Edgartown-VH road, but just far enough away that we didn't hear any traffic at all. There were quite a few ants (small, pavement ants, not carpenter ants) coming from the area of the kitchen window. They really started to be a nuisance aftera few days, but a quick treatment of ant powder took care of the problem, and we were ant-free for the rest of the stay. We had no other issues with pests anywhere else in the house. When you arrive at the house on 10th St you are actually at the back of the house, so it would be easier to enter/exit through the kitchen sliders rather than walking around the house and using the front door. The key is supposed to unlock both, but it didn't work on the sliders. We were disconcerted to find a strange car parked in the driveway one night halfway through our stay, and it remained there the rest of the week. A neighbor told us it "went with the house" and belonged to the owner or her brother. We generally expect to have exclusive use of the whole house and property during a rental stay unless we're told otherwise, so a heads up from the owner in advance would have been nice. Despite a few minor details, we were very pleased overall, and would definitely rent here again.

Cute house
We did two weeks here, and upon arrival we were pleased with the cleanliness and decor of the home. It was the perfect size for our family of 5. We did encounter a tremendous amount of bugs - ants on the kitchen counters and many other bugs elsewhere in the home. I reached out to the owner and she was very responsive and had an exterminator out the next day. The location is not ideal for traveling into Edgartown as the traffic at the triangle is awful. It was a quick and easy trip to OB and VH and up island as well.
