There are few better places to get married than Martha’s Vineyard. With a wonderful backdrop in a historic part of the country, here are some ways to help plan a Vineyard wedding. Martha’s Vineyard has everything you need on the island to make your wedding everything you dreamed of. From venues, to restaurants, to reception halls, look at what Martha’s Vineyard has to offer!

Along with several lodging options, there are many different venues that can fit anyone’s taste and budget. Guests can arrive on Martha’s Vineyard by ferry or air, so there are many options available to out-of-town guests.

Sailing Camp Park features several overlooks along in Oak Bluffs and has areas for the ceremony, rehearsal dinner and the reception. The park has 15 wooded acres to make for the perfect Northeast wedding.

If you’re interested in a beach wedding, look at the scenic Squibnocket and Menemsha beaches. However certain beaches have restrictions on tents and alcohol, so make sure to plan ahead!

One unique plan would be to get married at one of the historic lighthouses on Martha’s Vineyard. Gay Head Lighthouse dates back to 1799 and is on the list of U.S. National Register of Historic Places. This red brick lighthouse offers a glimpse at the historic Martha’s Vineyard and is a tremendous place to get married, let alone visit.

Edgartown Lighthouse had major renovations in 2007 and offers a great destination for a lighthouse wedding.

If you are interested in getting married at a church, look into Old Whaling Church in Edgartown. Built in 1843, this church was designed in the Greek Revival fashion and can accommodate as many as 500 guests for a wedding.

Once you find a venue to get married, look into one of the local restaurants that can give your reception a New England flavor. Start with the MV Chowder Company or the Wharf Pub & Restaurant in Edgartown.

Cakes by Liz can provide you with your dream wedding cake right in Martha’s Vineyard. MV Gourmet Cafe & Bakery can also provide the ideal cake for your special day.

Looking into a photographer based in Martha’s Vineyard who can help you capture the memories from the wedding and reception? Look no further than Sara Piazza Photography or Randi Baird Photography.

If you would like to hire a wedding planner in Martha’s Vineyard, My Vineyard Elopement & Weddings and KG Events & Design can help you put all the details together.

There are several options for every aspect of the wedding that you’re looking for in Martha’s Vineyard. From the moment the guests arrive on the island to the end of the ceremony, make your wedding stand out from the rest. Whether it is a big family bbq, a day spent lazily on the beach, or taking part in the traditional 4th of july activities, there’s something for everyone. Below you’ll find some information on two of the biggest events on Martha’s Vineyard.

4TH OF JULY IN EDGARTOWN A tradition that has lasted several decades, the annual 4th of July parade starts promptly at 5 pm. The parade begins at the intersection of West Tisbury Road and Pinehurst Road. Next it takes a right onto Main Street and then a left onto Pease’s Point Way (next to the monument). It follows Pease’s Point Way and then takes a right onto Morse Street, a left onto Fuller Street and a right onto Thayer Street. At the end of Thayer it takes a right onto North Water Street. Next it takes a right up Main Street and pauses in front of the reviewing stand (in front of the Whaling Church). It continues up Main Street and then takes a left onto the West Tisbury Road and finishes at the Edgartown School. The fireworks typically start as soon as it is dark (typically 9 pm)

STARS AND STRIPES FESTIVAL Considered one of the most exciting shows of the summer, the 4th annual Stars and Stripes Festival is a rocking music festival that takes place at Flatbread Company near the airport.
