Years ago, the Hardware Store was the only store you would find open on Main Street in the middle of January – this week there were a bevy of options, dressed up with Christmas decorations and filled with gift galore.

We stopped in 20-Main and Backwater for mittens, cozy sweaters and the perfect winter hat – a bit of Patagonia and gifts which I didn’t realize I was looking for – luckily they had two. The car was soon full, the wallet empty – and we didn’t even have to brave the (gasp) crowded malls…

First Time Vacation Renters on Martha’s Vineyard

Finding your perfect vacation rental property on Martha’s Vineyard may seem like a daunting task if you have never been to the island before. Even though we are considered a small island, we have five towns with some very different flavors to each. There are also many different booking opportunities out there for vacation rentals. There may be something to be said for being able to go online and book your house in a few easy steps but it is important to have confidence in the services available upon arrival to the house. We, at Sandpiper Rentals, are proud of the fact that we are here and available should there be an issue at the house or questions to be answered upon arrival.

Happy Holidays from Sandpiper Rentals

Every year around the holiday season, Edgartown comes alive with lights, food, holiday cheer, and an abundance of community spirit. Local businesses open up with discounts and treats. Christmas in Edgartown weekend highlights include the Annual Great Chowder Contest, pictures with Santa, the Lighting of the Lighthouse at the Harbor View Hotel, the Christmas parade, shopping and sales, and holiday themed events benefiting Island Charities.

This year, Sandpiper is joining in this annual festivity with tours of local homes available for rental. At each house you’ll get to meet the amazing ladies of Sandpiper Rentals, as well as enjoy warm drinks and special treats.

Also if you go to all houses along the tour, we’ll donate to a local charity on Martha’s Vineyard, Red Stocking Fund, in your name and you will receive a local ornament as our thanks!

The tour will run from 11:30AM-1PM. The local homes include:
